He’d had enough. He’d had enough. That Roth-damned son of his had tried his patience for the last time.

When Arev was born, his stubby, deformed wing had been crushing. Kalani’s resulting infertility had been even more devastating, and the fact that the little bay miscreant would be his final legacy was almost more than Ariut could bear. They had been lucky with the first colt – Lusin’s golden coat and perfect wings would be a pride to any Saraph sire. But when Ariut’s adult feathers began molting in, they grew in coal black, covering up the lovely, ruddy shade of brown that had been the colt’s only saving grace.

A dark-coated colt with only one wing and a talent for troublemaking would be no son of Ariut’s. Not any longer. From now on, he had one son and one son only. Lusin would be his legacy. Arev would be lost to the ages.

Ariut marched to the marketplace with a purpose, his eyes blazing, wings flared and shoulder-bags filled with parchments fresh from the calligrapher. Pedestrians and shoppers moved wisely out of his way. Upon every corner and market stall that would allow it, he posted his advertisements. He had not consulted Kalani before writing them up. He had not told the twins. Nothing was going to change his mind.

Saraphslave by WinterWhitetail

*GASP* ARIUT'S DOIN THE THIIINNNGGGGG

It's happening! Ariut is auctioning off his son, Arev, as a slave. Because Arev is a dark-coated single-winged troublemakin' menace and is either going to give Ariut an anuresum or, WORSE, disgrace his legacy. He has big big big plot plans, and we want to make sure whoever purchases him ICly will fit in well with those plans. Therefore, we're holding both an IC and OOC auction to find out who gets the lil demon! If you're interested in giving this dude a home, please fill out the form below, remove the paragraph sections, and post it either in the comments or as a note to me.

Character who is interested: (Thumbnail or fav.me link to character's reference sheet)
IC lit response to auction: (100 words or more, please! Include why your character is interested in Arev and what they will have him doing as their slave. If they have any questions for Ariut, he will be available at his odds-and-ends store!)

Why are you interested in Arev?: (Be as specific or non-specific as you want. "He's cute" will suffice. Because he is, indeed, super cute.)
Any future plotting plans for your character that would involve their slaves?: (We don't want any conflicting plots here!)
Will your character allow Arev to someday buy his freedom? (It will take lots and lots of time for Arev to work off his freedom, but would your character be possibly willing to let him in the future? He doesn't wanna be a slave forever!)

Character who is interested: Alarogan Al-Taj / Tiercel / Co-Sultan
IC lit response to auction:

Alarogan flapped his wings strongly as he neared the ground, using a bit of his wind magic to buffer the jarring feeling of landing. With a final beat of wings, he tucked them onto his back and looked around the gradually repairing marketplace, hearing a yawn of boredom from his back as Ember was roused from her nap by the landing. The repairs from the meteor strike were going nicely and the herd was falling back into its comfortably familiar patterns of life, one of which he was reminded of promptly as a tiercel was handing out flyers to anyone who would take them. The sultan walked over and took one, more to satisfy his own curiosity then anything else, and frowned as he saw it was an auction for a chicklet with a deformed wing. The note that he was back of feathers made Alarogan's own feathers stand on end, remembering back to when he was still small, younger then the male being auctioned, and he was terrified of his own father.

Thoth had been in a rage over an accident, which admittedly was the young tiercel's fault but it had not been intentional. He remembered how his red coat father had heated the branding iron to the point it glowed white hot, then terrible pain as it was pressed into his shoulder. The look on Thoth's face almost made him think the older male had been completely deaf to his son's cries. Thoth had not sold him afterwards only because he favored Alarogan's mother, but he had not hesitated to take Alarogan out to the slave market to threaten to do just that if he misbehaved again.

The sultan hissed as he felt a small prick of pain, and turned to lock eyes with Ember, the dragon now holding a few of his feathers in her mouth and giving him a sharp glare. They were drawing attention just standing in the middle of the market, frozen in a flashback! Alarogan shook his head and read over the flyer again more slowly. He really didn't know what he would do with another slave, a deformed one at that, but as he thought more about it, back when he was that age and being threatened with being sold, he would have wanted someone who actually gave a damn about slaves to buy him. Flexing his wings and talons for a moment, the sultan started walking after the male who had been handing out flyers, this 'Ariut.'

Picking up his most regal gait, the black male trotted along and into the shop of Ariut. It looked like he sold bits and pieces rather then any single product, and Alarogan wondered just how wealthy he could be. He doubted to much since he was selling off his son to the highest bidder. He placed the flyer down and spoke, "Is the slave still available? I'm in need of one to help around the palace and to keep my armory in good shape." He wasn't sure how he was going to teach the young male -how- to properly polish and sharpen his gear, but it was the first thing that came to mind as far as tasks. He already had all the cleaning and muscles he could want in his current slaves, but he didn't want Hyrenna near his armor and weapons while she was pregnant with his foal.

And he had had many sons, how difficult could one chicklet extra be?

Why are you interested in Arev?: Honestly he has always been my favorite of the twins, and the twins have always been my favorite in-game foals xD I love his spirit and his loyalty to his brother... even when their actions get them into trouble.

Any future plotting plans for your character that would involve their slaves?: None that would directly involve them, but several that could prompt one like Arev to have a cameo if he does become a 'squire' to Ro. Any wars or battles, Ro could use his help getting in and out of his armor xD His big muscles aren't that good for turning and tightening straps. We also discussed some plots involving both of the twins learning from him, and perhaps if Arev is good, Ro can treat him to some gliding with his wind magic ;)

Will your character allow Arev to someday buy his freedom? Of course. Ro believes in letting slaves buy their way out, only they need to pay him back three times their initial cost. He pays them a small amount of money, though, so if they are responsible they can pay it back sooner rather then later.
